WESLEY WOODS SENIOR LIVING “SOUND OF MUSIC” SERVICE PROJECT

"Let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start." The Wesley Woods “Sound of Music” project is designed to serve and encourage both residents and staff through acts of kindness, connection, and hospitality. Participants will have the opportunity to step into different roles throughout the experience—whether serving behind the scenes or engaging directly with residents. Roles may include assembling care boxes, writing encouraging letters to staff, creating simple flower arrangements to brighten resident spaces, setting up and hosting a movie night snack bar for residents to enjoy at the movie or back in their residences, and spending intentional time in conversation with residents. Each role plays an important part in creating a meaningful and joy-filled environment. Participants who feel led can engage relationally with residents, fostering connection and community, while others can serve through thoughtful preparation and tangible acts of care. After the project concludes, residents will be invited to enjoy a showing of The Sound of Music, extending the experience of joy, nostalgia, and connection beyond our time together. This project is designed to uplift, honor, and bring joy to the Wesley Woods community through both tangible gifts and meaningful relationships—allowing every participant to serve in a way that fits their strengths and comfort level.
